Follow-ups

Follow-ups are for HMR and RMMR after the initial report. Instead of copying recommendations into a spreadsheet, Markoste pulls them from the report, keeps a list of who still needs a review, and writes the GP letter when you complete the visit.

Open Follow-ups on the left of Hub. You can also finish a follow-up from the patient in Scribe or Patient Files.

Watch: how to use follow-ups in Markoste

Follow along with this walkthrough while you try the steps below โ€“ from saving the report, to the suburb list, to sending the GP letter.

The video plays here on this page. You do not need to leave the guide.

The flow at a glance

How Follow-ups works

There are three parts. Create the follow-up when you save the initial report. Work from the Hub list when you are in that suburb. Complete it on the patient and download the letter for the GP.

  1. Save an HMR or RMMR report. After any calendar task and PPA claiming, Markoste asks whether this patient needs a follow-up.
  2. Review the extracted recommendations, add or remove rows, and save. A PharmCal task is created for the due date.
  3. Later, open Follow-ups on Hub, filter by suburb, complete the visit, and download Word or PDF for the GP.

Good to know

Follow-ups sit beside the initial HMR or RMMR. They do not add a new pipeline stage, and they are not a new Scribe recording.

Step 1

Create after you save

1

Save the HMR or RMMR report

Finish the initial report in Scribe from the HMR or Residential pathway. After you save (and after PPA claiming, if it appears), a prompt asks Schedule an HMR follow-up? or Schedule an RMMR follow-up?

2

Review the recommendations, then save

Markoste extracts recommendations from the report. Edit anything that is off, delete rows that do not need a follow-up, or add extra ones. Follow-up notes are written later, at the visit.

Click Save follow-up to put the patient on the list, or Not now if no follow-up is needed. You can still create one later from the patient.

Tip

You do not copy recommendations into a letter at this step. The prompt only sets up the pending follow-up.

Step 2

The Follow-ups list

3

Open Follow-ups on the left of Hub

Go back to Hub and click Follow-ups on the left. The inbox shows pending, completed and cancelled follow-ups for your organisation.

4

Filter by suburb while you are there

Type a suburb to see every patient due in that town. Search by patient name if you need one person. Switch to Visit list for a field sheet sorted by the original review date, oldest first.

Good to know

The same list also appears as a Follow-up tab on HMR and Residential, so you can stay in that module if you prefer.

Step 3

Complete and send the letter

5

Open the patient and walk through the table

Click the patient on the list. Each recommendation has a follow-up notes column for what you discussed. Accepted, declined and other are internal only โ€“ they never print on the letter.

6

Download the GP letter

The letter is a two-column table: previous recommendation and follow-up consultation, with an editable intro. Edit the intro if you want โ€“ Markoste can remember your wording next time. Then Download PDF or Download Word and send it to the GP.

7

Mark it complete

Click Complete follow-up when the letter is ready. The linked PharmCal task is completed as well. You can still reprint the letter later from the completed row.

Heads up

A third or later follow-up, or one outside the usual PPA window, is labelled not PPA-claimable. Follow-up claiming to PPA is not in this version.

If you skipped the prompt

Create later

8

Create from the patient or the inbox

You can add a follow-up later from the Follow-ups tab on Scribe or Patient Files (after Notes), or with Add on the Hub inbox. Choose HMR or RMMR if both apply, set the dates, and type or extract the recommendation table.

Plans

Who can use Follow-ups

Follow-ups are included on Professional, Practitioner and Foundation. Trial and Pharmacy accounts can be granted access by an administrator.

Tip

If you do not see Follow-ups on the left of Hub, your plan does not include it yet. The rest of Markoste still works as usual.
