Configuration
Markoste+ Rules
Markoste+ Rules is a configuration page where users set up rules that create flags in the program when the rule is triggered. It is not a separate module like Residential, ACOP or HMR.
Those flags are generated when a Scribe report is produced. You can use the built-in clinical rule sets and add your own rules to match how you like to practise.
The flow at a glance
What Markoste+ Rules are
When a report is produced, Markoste+ Rules can surface STOPP/START suggestions, an anticholinergic burden score, links to deprescribing guides, and any custom flags you have created.
Heads up
Markoste+ Rules support your decisions โ they are not a substitute for clinical judgement. Always review each flag in the context of your patient.Evidence-based flags
STOPP/START flags
See potentially inappropriate and missing medicines
When the report is produced, Markoste+ applies STOPP/START criteria to the medicine list and highlights medicines that may be inappropriate (STOPP) or treatments that might be missing (START), with the reason for each flag.
Burden score
ACB score
Check the anticholinergic burden
The Anticholinergic Cognitive Burden (ACB) score adds up the anticholinergic load across the patient's medicines, so you can see at a glance whether it is worth reducing.
Practical next steps
Deprescribing guides
Open a step-by-step deprescribing guide
Where a medicine could be reduced or stopped, Markoste links to a deprescribing guide with practical tapering steps, so you can act on the flag with confidence.
Making it yours
Creating your own rule
Write a rule in plain English
You can add your own rules by describing them as a plain-English sentence. Markoste turns that into a flag that can appear when a future report meets the rule.
Good to know
Custom rule creation is a beta feature and may not be enabled on every plan. If you do not see it, it is not yet available for your account.Keeping them tidy
Managing your rules
Edit, turn off or remove rules
From your rules list you can edit a rule's wording, switch it off temporarily, or remove it entirely. Active rules are considered when future Scribe reports are produced.
