Core Tools

PharmCal

PharmCal is your pharmacist calendar. It keeps every follow-up, review and reminder in one place so nothing slips through the cracks. Tasks can be linked to a patient and even to the exact note that prompted them.

Many tasks are created for you automatically – when you save a note in Scribe, PharmCal offers to schedule the follow-up. You can also create tasks here directly.

The flow at a glance

How PharmCal works

Open PharmCal to see your calendar. Switch between daily, weekly and monthly views, then add tasks with a date, time and urgency. Colour coding makes it easy to spot what is most important.

Choosing a view

Calendar views

1

Daily, weekly or monthly

Use the daily view for today's detail, the weekly view to plan ahead, and the monthly view for the big picture. Coloured dots show where your busiest and most urgent days are.

Everyday task

Creating a task

1

Add a follow-up to the calendar

Click a date to add a task. Give it a title and description, set the date and time, and choose an urgency. You can link it to a patient so it shows up against their record too.

Saving time

Using task templates

1

Start from a ready-made task

PharmCal includes templates for common jobs such as an initial medication review, a 7-day follow-up, an HMR or an RMMR. Pick a template and it fills in a sensible title, urgency and timeframe for you.

Prioritising

Urgency levels

Each task has an urgency shown by colour:

  • Yellow– low priority, routine follow-up.
  • Orange– medium priority, needs attention soon.
  • Red– high priority, do not miss.

Tip

Tasks sort by urgency and time, so your most important work always rises to the top of the day.

Repeating work

Recurring tasks

1

Set a task to repeat

For reviews that happen on a schedule, turn on repeat and choose daily, weekly or monthly. You can set how often it repeats and when it should stop. PharmCal creates the series for you.

Good to know

When you delete a repeating task, Markoste asks whether you want to remove just that one or the whole series.

Keeping patients in the loop

Patient reminders

1

Send the patient an email reminder

When a task is linked to a patient, you can choose to send them an email reminder. Add their email address and tick the notify option on the task.
